A negative reading experience for me was reading Where Am I Wearing this past summer. The book was not appealing to me and it took large amounts of time to get through parts of the book. It was not a book that I wanted to keep reading to find out what happened next. It seemed as though the author, Kelsey Timmerman, would repeat the same story for every piece of clothing and country he went to visit. I always have a great experience reading something that appeals to me and is a book that I do not want to put down.
A positive writing experience was my literature research paper this past year. I researched my short story well and used quotes that applied to my paper's thesis. The thing that helped boost my confidence the most was my teacher using my rough drafts as examples on the board. I got a lot of feedback but most of it was positive though the other was how to make it sound better. I still think I can be a better writer and knowing people that writing tremendously, I still lack that confidence in my writing. Hopefully, I have more positive writing experiences to come.
